On The Ground AGAIN!!

OK so today was the first day I went riding after getting bucked off Mud. I was riding Snickers this time. Snickers isn't a bucker and it really wasn't his fault I fell off. I was going up a hill, didn't have my feet right in the stirrups, so when Snickers started hopping up the hill I was out of the saddle. I was hanging on the right side trying to pull the reigns back and couldn't. I was only about 2 feet off the ground, but I couldn't stop the horse so I let go and hit the ground.

I did get back on the horse, but was scared to go UP. I was with my riding trainer and his friend. We went down to the road and just rode on the road instead of in the hills. On the road I got freaked out because the Snickers was moving his head a lot and felt like I wasn't controlling him so I stopped him and got off. His head movement reminded me of Mud before I got bucked off. My trainer, Harold, promised me that Snickers would never buck, and I believe him, but he also told me, "If you are scared to ride you shouldn't ride." I was scared so I got off the horse and I feel good about that decision.

Harold said he was going to put me on Rony Pony which is a 10 year old gelding that is, "broke, broke, broke" Harold said he thought Snickers might be too much for me right now so I'll spend some time on Rony Pony to get confidence and get more settled in my saddle. I think my saddle might be too small, but we'll be evaluating that tomorrow.

I am scared, but I still want to learn how to ride. Though I definitely had doubts about whether I really needed horses. I could do without horses for the rest of my life and be perfectly fine. But since I own two horses I'm going to give it a go on Rony Pony and see what happens.
